May is National Stroke Awareness Month
To help prevent a stroke, your regular checkup should include blood pressure, cholesterol and blood glucose readings. Knowing these numbers can help you control any risk factors you may have. Stroke symptoms can appear suddenly and may include: numbness of face or limbs, trouble seeing or speaking, confusion, dizziness, and loss of balance or coordination. If you suspect someone is having a stroke, call 911 or get medical help immediately. Every minute counts. For more information on the Maimonides Stroke Center click here.
