Pastoral and Spiritual Care at Maimonides

Maimonides chaplains and staff are here for you & your loved ones

A hospital stay can be unexpected, anxious or lonely. Spiritual and emotional well-being is as important to your health and recovery as the medical care you are receiving. We can play a role in all aspects of care, from assessment, to treatment and end of life.

Contact Spiritual Care Services 24 hours, 7 days a week

During your stay, your healthcare provider can contact a chaplain to schedule a visit or please contact us directly.

We can help if you...

  • Are struggling with the meaning of your illness

  • Need support when making difficult treatment choices

  • Have concerns with spiritual issues outside of illness

  • Would like to request a religious ritual specific to your tradition

  • Desire to have someone pray with you or bless you

  • Feel that you would like to confide in a “safe” person

  • Receive bad news

  • Anticipate surgery or other procedures

  • Are facing end of life decisions

  • Need assistance with contacting a member of your faith community

  • Need support and comfort

As chaplains, we make daily rounds providing comfort, solace and spiritual guidance during your stay. We respect the spiritual, religious and cultural beliefs and practices of the diverse communities we serve. Our conversations with you are personal and confidential.

Maimonides offers daily and holiday religious services in the hospital synagogue, our interdenominational chapel and Muslim prayer room.
