Language Assistance Services

 

Interpreter Services

Interpreter services are available free of charge to patients who do not speak English or who prefer to communicate with their healthcare providers in a language other than English. If you would like to request a spoken language or sign language interpreter, please tell your nurse or ask to speak to your patient representative.

The Patient Relations Department can be contacted at 718-283-7212, and the Patient Relations Administrator on call is available around the clock at 718-283-8838.

 

Additional Services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Patients

We offer assistive devices for hearing impaired patients, as well as closed captioning TV and TTY equipment. In addition, in-person sign language interpreters are available through the Patient Relations Department at all times.  For more information, please contact Judie Arnold, Language Assistance Coordinator, at 718-283-7212.
