Maternity Orientation Program

Maimonides invites mothers-to-be and their families to participate in our Maternity Orientation Program. This program includes a tour of our Brooklyn-based maternity and birthing center, as well as information session on your experience before, during and after labor and delivery. 

Maternity Tours: Providing a warm welcome to expectant mothers and their families

Our Maternity Orientation Program, in combination with the tour, provides an opportunity for women and their families to become familiar with the center's procedures and surroundings.

Two different tours are given: a tours for couples and one exclusively for women.

During the tour and orientation program, you will visit areas such as:

  • The admitting office and welcome area
  • Triage center
  • The Payson Birthing Center
  • A birthing room
  • The postpartum floor
  • Newborn nursery.

Participants will receive important written materials, including a list of providers offering childbirth education, information on our Volunteer Doula Program, breastfeeding guidance and more.

The Maternity Orientation Program is followed by a question and answer session and an informative video on the necessity and importance of "Skin-to-Skin Contact" and breastfeeding.
