Dr. Shaknovich has been caring for patients and their families for over twenty-five years. Now with his experienced team, which includes Drs. Anastasia Nikitina, Elena Bezoff and Helen Khilkin-Sogoloff, he continues offering the highest level of excellence in cardiac and pulmonary services in their new offices at the Shaknovich Cardiology Wellness Institute of Maimonides.

This new facility is a state-of-the-art, comprehensive center that provides proven cardiac expertise and a complete array of outpatient services, utilizing the latest medical technologies for advanced cardiac care. Alexander Shaknovich, MD, graduated from Harvard Medical School. He completed post-graduate training in Internal Medicine at New York Cornell, and Cardiology training at New York-Presbyterian and Scripps Institute in San Diego. He is a former Chief of Interventional Cardiology at New York Hospital. He specializes in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology, and is a widely respected expert in coronary interventions, such as angiography, balloon angioplasty and coronary stenting. He treats patients with a wide range of cardiovascular problems, including angina (chest pain), hypertension (high blood pressure), valvular heart disease, heart failure and arrhythmias. Dr. Shaknovich is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology and holds several patents in Interventional Cardiology.
Anastasia Nikitina, MD, completed her residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Lenox Hill Hospital. Her clinical interests include hypertension, coronary artery disease, arrhythmia and valvular disease. She has a sub-specialty in Cardiac Imaging, with a focus on echocardiography and coronary CT angiography. Dr. Nikitina is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, Nuclear Medicine and Coronary CT Angiography.
Elena Bezoff, MD, completed her residency, as well as her fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease, at Maimonides Medical Center. She specializes in Cardiology with a sub-specialty in Echocardiography and Nuclear Imaging. She treats multiple conditions such as chest pain, dyspnea, and cardiac arrhythmias, and excels in the evaluation and management of patients prior to surgical interventions. Dr. Bezoff is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Echocardiography and Nuclear Medicine.
Helen Khilkin-Sogoloff, DO, completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the North Shore University Hospital and her fellowship in pulmonary medicine at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. She provides comprehensive evaluation and management for patients with a variety of lung diseases that range from routine to rare. These conditions include, but are not limited to asthma, bronchitis, bronchiectasis, emphysema, pneumonia, interstitial lung disease and lung cancer. As part of the Shaknovich Cardiology Wellness Institute, she adds value to patient care by assessing, screening for, diagnosing and treating lung diseases in a way that gives each patient the best possible prognosis.
