Welcome to Our Program
Maimonides offers a six-year residency program in urologic surgery, including one year of general surgery internship, one year of urologic research, and four years of clinical training in urology. Our curriculum is intended to train residents in all aspects of urologic care and to be future leaders in the field, while fostering a collegial atmosphere and a dedicated work ethic.
As of July 2016, the Maimonides Medical Center Urology Residency Program and the Brookdale Medical Center Urology Residency Program, both located in Brooklyn, combined into a single training program with Maimonides as the home institution.
While training is centered at Maimonides Medical Center, residents also serve patients through clinical training at Brookdale Hospital & Medical Center and the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. One year of training is dedicated to urologic research at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.
Residents develop skill in all areas of urologic practice, allowing them to establish practice independently, in either an academic or clinical setting.
