How to Apply
Applications for residency (and many fellowship) programs are only accepted through ERAS at www.aamc.org/eras. Due to the high volume of applicants, we are not able to answer questions over the phone or via facsimile transmissions.
Complete details and timelines are available on the ERAS website. Applications for most residency programs can be submitted beginning September 1st; however, you can begin the process of preparing your application prior to that date through the ERAS website. Please check with the individual residency or fellowship program for initial and final dates of submission. In general, the psychiatry training program will accept applications from September 15th through December 31st and will be conducting interviews in November, December and January.
Applications for our Program are accepted solely through the ERAS system. All communications with potential applicants will be exclusively through ERAS. Any communication that is NOT within the ERAS system may go unanswered.
In order for your application to be reviewed, we require the following information:ERAS Common Application Form, including:
- Common Application Form
- ERAS Common Application Form
- Medical School Transcript
- Medical Student Performance Evaluation (Dean's letter) or its equivalent
- Letters of recommendation (3) (Psychiatry letters preferred)
- USMLE transcript
- ECFMG Status Report, if applicable & available
- Personal Statement
- COMLEX transcript, if applicable
- Citizenship, Visa type
In response to commonly asked questions, we are providing the following information:
- We sponsor applicants for J1 or H1-B visa
- USMLE first time pass is preferred
- As we consider each application in its entirety, there are no absolute cutoff dates
- USMLE/COMLEX results or for graduation, but we will preferentially review those applicants with scores over 200 and who have graduated medical school in the last five (5) years
- US Clinical experience is preferred but not required
