Research

The Department of Surgery at Maimonides Medical Center has made a strong commitment to both experimental and clinical research, which has resulted in a very significant level of achievement in basic science and clinical investigation. Residents may enroll in a one-year surgical research program after completing two years of clinical training. Residents are expected to complete a publication and/or present findings at a national professional conference.

Experimental work is performed in the laboratories located in the Research Building, which encompasses over 32,093 square feet.
