Pediatric Hospitalist Program
Coordinating Care and Compassion
At the Children's Hospital, we understand that admitting a child to the hospital can be frightening for the child and family. To help alleviate those fears and give you and your child individualized attention, we have a full-time Pediatric Hospitalist Program. A pediatric hospitalist is a board-certified pediatrician who specializes in coordinating the care of children admitted to the hospital.
The Children's Hospital is one of the few hospitals in the area that has a full-time Pediatric Hospitalist Program. Our specialized and compassionate hospitalist works with families, nursing staff and other doctors and pediatricians to coordinate the stay and treatment of pediatric patients. For children under the care of a Maimonides' pediatrician, the hospitalist works closely with the admitting physician. Children admitted to the hospital without a pediatrician are directly cared for by the hospitalist. Our hospitalist evaluates and delivers care that is child-friendly in an environment created just for children.
