Healthy Shopping Tips 


  • August is Kids Eat Right Month! Along with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, we'll celebrate Kids Eat Right Month by continuing to share nutrition tips for kids.

  • Eating healthy and staying active helps reduce risk of obesity, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes. Eating nutritious foods helps kids build strong muscles and bones, sleep better and stay focused in school.


  • Visit a farmer's market  in your neighborhood, where you can find inexpensive fresh fruits and vegetables in season.

  • Choose frozen vegetables and fruits - they're less expensive and last longer.

  • Take your kids shopping with you and letting them pick out healthy foods like fruits and vegetables.

  • Recipe of the week! Berries are in season, try this Blue Banana Smoothie Recipe for a healthy and easy snack for kids and adults.
