Dr. Tina Rakitt is an attending pediatrician in the Department of Pediatrics, at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. She is board certified both in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition. Dr. Rakitt graduated from Cornell University, Phi Beta Kappa, and then completed her medical training at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She then completed her residency in pediatrics and fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at The Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Dr. Rakitt has published on topics including celiac disease (A Clinical Guide to Gluten-Related Disorders by Alessio Fasano, NASPGHAN Foundation) and inflammatory bowel disease (Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology). She has over 15 years of experience in treating a variety of conditions, including inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn disease and ulcerative colitis), celiac disease, constipation, allergic esophagitis, hepatitis and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Dr. Rakitt's warm and engaging manner focuses not only on treating the disease itself, but also on combating any fears and concerns children and their parents may have. This practice allows her young patients to enjoy their wonderful period of growth and development, despite the illness being treated.
