Dr. Sandra McCalla is the Director of the Division of Obstetrics, in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. McCalla completed her residency and fellowship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Prior to joining the Maimonides team, she was Chief of Maternal Fetal Medicine & Director of Labor & Delivery at Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn & Queens.
Maimonides is renowned for its exceptional obstetrical and gynecologic services, from prenatal and delivery care to menopause and beyond. Under the leadership of the Department Chair, Maimonides offers the complete spectrum of women's health care services provided by a staff of caring, highly-trained professionals.
Dr. Sandra McCalla has published various articles and abstracts, which included the topic of drug use during pregnancy. She has received several grants throughout her career; three of which she had the role of Principle Investigator. Currently, she is Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at SUNY-Health Science Center in Brooklyn, and has been given the APGO Award for Excellence in Teaching. Dr. McCalla has been a guest reviewer for the Journal of American Medical Association, the Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, and the Journal of the American Medical Woman's Association. She is a member of the Society of Perinatal Obstetricians, the American Medical Association, the Brooklyn Gynecological Society, and the New York Obstetrical Society.
