Debra Barnett, RN, MSN, GNP-BC is a Masters-educated, board-certified Gerontological Nurse Practitioner. A Brooklyn native with over 30 years of clinical experience caring for older adults in the community, Mrs. Barnett has spent the last 10 years with the Division of Geriatric Medicine at Maimonides Medical Center and is currently the Director of the Home Medical Care for the Elderly Program. She maintains an active clinical practice in Brooklyn providing medical house calls to homebound older adults, many of whom suffer from multiple chronic illnesses, behavioral disturbances and functional deficits. Mrs. Barnett's mantra is "There's no place like home," and, as such, she devotes her house call practice to assisting older adults to age in place safely. She is experienced in diagnosing and treating, both, acute and chronic diseases, while focusing on the preferences and goals of her individual patients. She takes a holistic approach to meeting the medical, psychosocial and functional needs of older adults. Mrs. Barnett is committed to providing quality primary care to her elderly patients. Mrs. Barnett enjoys the daily interactions with her patients, their caregivers, and the dedicated geriatric professional at Maimonides Medical Center.
