Get screened for colon cancer

A colonoscopy is an outpatient procedure that tests for - and can also prevent - cancer of the colon.

During the test, a doctor examines the lining of the large intestine with a flexible instrument called a colonoscope. If small growths or polyps are found, they are immediately removed and tested. Most are benign. If you are over 50 years of age, or have a family history of colon cancer, the American Cancer Society recommends you get tested at regular intervals.

Our Endoscopy Center, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, provides quality patient care with an emphasis on your comfort.

If you are a Brooklyn resident and lack health insurance coverage, Maimonides may be able to help.
