Welcome to the Maimonides Center for Clinical Simulation
Our simulation scenarios cater to health care staff in training as well as to seasoned professionals for continued skills development and multi-disciplined collaborative team training.

The technology involves high fidelity robotic mannequins and a variety of task trainers (i.e. laparoscopic surgery trainer) to improve patient safety through practicing in an immersive and risk free environment. The simulation center at Maimonides serves as a unified interdisciplinary training center that addresses the realities of practice and patient care.
I invite you to explore our facility, both online and in person.

Director, Center for Clinical Simulation
Our Mission is to:
Provide immersive and simulation based educational programs for healthcare staff throughout Maimonides Hospital
- Provide immersive and simulation based training for pre-hospital emergency services
- Create a unique interdisciplinary training environment where health care staff from all professions work collaboratively to foster professional excellence, teamwork and error reduction
- Create a safer environment for patients by using simulation and ultrasound technology in the training, assessment and credentialing of trainees in resuscitative, invasive and surgical procedures
- Research and develop new immersive and simulation based educational programs
- Establish a leadership role in pioneering new technologies and methods for medical education and patient safety
Our Training Modalities include:
- High Fidelity Mannequins to foster prompt identification of serious illness, sound clinical reasoning and action, inter-disciplinary collaborative team based care, and certain procedural skills in a zero fault environment.
- Partial Task Trainers to develop and maintain specialty specific skills such as endotracheal intubation, routine and difficult deliveries, umbilical artery cannulation, intravenous line placement, laparoscopic surgery, endoscopy, colonoscopy, cardiac catheterization, retinal procedures, bronchoscopy, ureteroscopy, and other invasive procedures.
- Compact Ultrasound Systems and tissue phantoms to allow trainees to learn and practice safer ultrasound-guided techniques for invasive procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, vascular access and regional anesthesia.
