Dr. Beth Popp is an Associate Director and physician in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology, at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn New York. Dr. Popp leads the Maimonides Palliative Care Program, bringing her unique experience in pain and symptom management for cancer patients to the cancer program. Dr. Popp completed her residence and fellowship at Indiana University Hospitals. Prior to joining the Maimonides team, she was the first Director of Palliative Care in what is now the Department of Veterans Affairs New York Harbor Health Care System. In addition to her clinical duties at the VA, she was involved in national policy development related to pain and symptom management. She participated in the VA Faculty Leadership Program to improve End-of-Life Care, a curriculum development program funded by the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. She also served as the clinical director and associate section chief for the Section of Palliative Medicine at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Centers in Manhattan.
