Systemic Therapy

The hematology/medical oncology division specializes in the medical treatment of cancer and blood diseases using chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, and targeted biological therapy.  We follow the latest treatment guidelines of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) and also offer state-of-the-art clinical research protocols.

Our division comprises 10 board certified hematologist/medical oncologists including a certified pain specialist, oncology certified nurse practitioners and physician assistants, oncology certified treatment nurses, social workers, and a research coordinator. Because of the large size of our group, the largest medical cancer treatment group in Brooklyn, our physicians are able to sub-specialize in particular cancers, such as breast, lung, gastrointestinal (for example, colon)  and genitourinary  (for example, prostate) cancers, lymphomas (Hodgkin’s and non-Hodgkin’s) and leukemias.  This guarantees that our patients benefit from specialized knowledge and expert treatment.

We have a beautiful, modern infusion unit for outpatient cancer treatment, blood transfusion, antibiotics and other intravenous therapies.  If hospitalization is needed, we have a spacious, oncology dedicated in-patient unit, with a full-time in-patient physician director, and a team of expert oncology nurses.
