Message from the Chair...
As we enter this autumn season, the academic year is well underway with numerous medical students and residents engaged in their clinical rotations in the communities of Brooklyn. For third year students, it is their first real exposure to the field of pediatrics, its developmental perspective and the importance of primary prevention and a lifespan/life-course approach. On September 17, 2011 the Walsh Family held a charity golf outing in Rockaway Beach in memory of Liam Walsh to support the MICH PICU, where he had once been a patient. The event raised over $10,000! The Walsh family has also created a fundraising page on the Maimonides website in Liam's memory, the proceeds of which will go directly to the continued delivery of excellent patient and family centered care in the PICU. To read more about the Liam Walsh Memorial Fund or to make a donation please visit the fundraising page. If you'd like to learn how you can create a page of your own, click here >
