Dr. Sidney Tessler is the Director of the Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Tessler completed residencies at Coney Island Hospital and Maimonides, followed by a fellowship in Pulmonary Disease at Maimonides.

Dr. Sidney Tessler has authored a significant number of publications and abstracts, and has been the Principal Investigator of numerous research trials.  Dr. Tessler has a strong interest in housestaff education.  He is the Program Director of the Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine training programs. Presently, he is an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Medicine at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, Clinical Associate Professor of Pharmacy and Pharmacology at Long Island University, and Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, NY.  Dr. Tessler is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and the American College of Physicians.  He is a member of the American Thoracic Society, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the American Heart Association and was on the Board of Directors of the American Lung Association of Brooklyn. Dr. Tessler served in the military as a member of the U.S. Public Health Service.  Under the direction of Dr. Tessler, the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine provides a full array of pulmonary and critical care services.
