Special Features

Our fellows are given the opportunity to monitor coursework at the SUNY – Downstate Medical Center’s graduate school in the life sciences and to participate in multiple “meet the professor” sessions with internationally acclaimed endocrinologists.  Fellows participate in the program’s novel approach to insulin resistance and novel diabetes model of treatment as well as attending a joint journal club with adult endocrine specialists.  Other features of the program include a paid cell phone for use when on call and paid attendance for at least one meeting.  Fellows do not exceed six months on call during the first year.
