Research
All four geriatric fellows complete a clinical research project in the acute care, or more frequently, the long-term care nursing home environment, to allow for continuity of follow-up and data collection. Posters and papers are presented at national meetings of the American Geriatric Society and the American Medical Directors Association. Additionally, health care research in long-term care and acute care transfers has been an active focus for investigation by fellows over the past two years utilizing geriatric faculty as mentors. Fellows have presented posters or talks at the last three annual meetings of the American Geriatrics Society.
