Special Features

The Child Abuse Pediatrics Research Fellowship offers extensive clinical training in the field of Child Abuse Pediatrics at the Maimonides Infants & Children's Hospital (MICH) – the first NACHRI-certified children’s hospital in Brooklyn. We are a regional perinatal center with affiliations with Coney Island Hospital and Lutheran Medical Center. The Bellevue-NYU site is a level 1 Trauma Center. The Child Protection Team at MICH and NYU provides full service consultations with our multidisciplinary teams. Fellows will train with four board-certified child abuse pediatricians and have opportunities to work closely with a wide variety of subspecialists and community partners.

One of the unique features of this program is the incredible cultural and ethnic diversity of the patients served by each of these sites. This level of diversity will truly train the fellow on cross cultural aspects that may affect the prevention, intervention, treatment and support of abused children.
