Dr. Michael Bergman is the Director of Pulmonary Medicine at Maimonides Medical Center. He completed his medical school training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, then when onto finish his residency at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn. Dr. Bergman completed a Pulmonary Medicine Fellowship at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1984. And for twenty plus years, prior to joining Maimonides, Dr. Michael Bergman had a long successful career as the Director of the ICU at Long Island College Hospital. Michael Bergman, MD joined Maimonides in 2012.

Dr. Michael Bergman is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine with Special Qualifications in Critical Care (1987-2017). He is proud to have held several academic teaching positions. One of his finest moments was being named Teacher of the Year for the Dept. of Medicine at LICH in 1996.
Dr. Bergman has also received presitigious recognition from the Top Doctors: New York Metro Edition; Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. over the last 11 years, as well as the New York Magazine, The Best Doctors in New York, in 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2011, 2012.
