Shaun M, Honig, M.D. is an attending in Interventional Radiology at Maimonides Medical Center.
Using image-guided, minimally invasive techniques, Dr Honig performs procedures to treat a wide range of diseases. Rather than making a surgical incision, he performs procedures using miniaturized instruments, many of which are small enough to be used through a needle or catheter. Because of these innovations, many of the procedures require only local anesthesia or sedation, without the need of a breathing tube or an overnight stay.
Dr. Honig's clinical interests include chemo- and radio- embolizations and thermoablations in interventional oncology, uterine fibroid embolizations, endocrinologic interventions, management of peripheral arterial diseases, treatment of varicose veins as well as maintenance of dialysis access.
Dr. Honig has received a number of academic and research awards and published articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is also actively involved in training fellows, residents, and medical students. |
