New York Collaborative Office Rounds: Reaching Children and Teens
Jessica Mikos, MPA
Grants Coordinator
Under-diagnosis, misdiagnosis, and less than optimal outcomes of psychiatric problems managed in primary care settings are pressing issues. Providers suffer from a lack of cross-training and support. Maimonides Medical Center and NYU Medical Center, under the leadership of Dr. Danielle Laraque and faculty, have begun the second year of the project entitled, “New York Collaborative Office Rounds: Reaching Children and Teens” (NY COR). The NY COR is funded through a 5 year HRSA MCHB grant totaling $75,000. COR meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of each month at noon via audio and web conference sessions. Child psychiatry and pediatric co-moderators discuss clinical cases from participating practices. The Reaching Children Initiative (RCI) methodology is used, emphasizing interdisciplinary processes to promote improved management of children’s social-emotional health. To receive our monthly invitation please email the COR coordinator Jessica Mikos at jmikos@maimonidesmed.org.
