The Maimonides Infants & Children’s Hospital welcomed the NYPD Finest Football team for a surprise visit to the pediatric patients on Aron 6. Players, wearing their green NYPD football jerseys, chatted with patients at their bedside, as well as played “pretend tea time” in the playroom. One player bought along his guitar and welcomed song requests from the children. Patients, players and staff happily sang together, to songs ranging from Tom Petty to SpongeBob Squarepants.
The players volunteer to visit local hospitals and said they love being able to bring joy to these patients. The smiling children enjoy their presence too, and Maimonides kids welcomed them back soon.
NYPD Finest is comprised of NYC police officers located throughout the city. Together they travel the country playing other public safety teams (including the FDNY) over a four-month season in the National Public Safety Football League (NPSFL).
