The New York Post ran a story on Sunday about a local high school football coach, Marshall Tames, who went into cardiac arrest in the middle of a playoff game -- and was revived by the use of a defibrillator right at the field. He was then rushed to Maimonides where he was stabilized and briefly interviewed by the Post. The article in which Maimonides was mentioned can be seen by clicking here.

But, the story continued through the weekend as Mr. Tames received expert care, first in the Maimonides ER by Dr. Hillary Cohen, then in our Cath Lab by Dr. Elliot Borgen, then to the OR where Dr. Mikhail Vaynblat performed a triple bypass Sunday morning. Mr. Tames was recovering in the CTICU yesterday when NBC's Tim Minton interviewed him and learned about the illustrious cardiac history of Maimonides Medical Center. The story was the lead on the 6pm broadcast on November 15th. You can see the broadcast, as well as read a brief text version of the piece on the NBC website by clicking here.
