|March 1 2011 I was so glad to get the update from the Maimonides Medical Center development office. I actually grew up at Maimonides. When I was 14 years old (in 1971) I started as a Candy Striper and returned as a volunteer every summer through High School and College. After graduating college I worked for the late Dr. George Degenshein doing breast cancer research for a year until I started Medical School. My sub-internship was done at Maimonides as was my 2 years as a Surgical Resident. Then I spent 2 years as a surgical research fellow for Dr. Joseph Cunningham. While I was doing Surgical research I met and married one of the Maimonides Orthopedic residents, Dr. David Feldman (23 years and 3 kids later still going strong). At this time I decided to switch into Emergency Medicine but unfortunately Maimonides didn't have a program at that time. So, I did a year of Internal Medicine and left in June 1989. I had some amazing times in the 17 years I was there and worked with some wonderful people. Thanks for the Memories, Dr. Barbara Schreibman Associate Chief, Dept of Emergency Medicine Medical Director EMS Englewood Medical Center, Englewwod NJ.
