We Celebrate Brooklyn
Brooklyn has been the birthplace of many impressive people, places, and innovations—including Maimonides, which began as a neighborhood dispensary in 1911. The histories of Maimonides and Brooklyn are intertwined with the history of a diverse population of people—those who were born here and moved away, those who stayed, and those who have traveled from near and far to make Brooklyn their new home. Here, we celebrate Brooklyn—and everyone and everything that got their start in our wonderful borough!
