Our Team and Approach

At the Maimonides Cancer Center, we believe that successful treatment for head and neck cancers requires a multidisciplinary team approach. Our team of experts includes board-certified head and neck surgeons, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, plastic surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, nurse practitioners, speech and swallowing therapists, a social worker, a nutritionist, a psychologist, and other clinical personnel – all working closely together to provide the very best in patient-centered care.

Our head and neck cancer experts meet at regular tumor boards to discuss and review cases, and formulate a treatment plan that is individualized for each patient. With this collaborative approach, patients receive opinions from some of the top specialists in head and neck oncology without having to travel to multiple locations. In addition to diagnosing and treating new patients, our tumor board also provides patients with multidisciplinary guidance regarding treatment plans formulated elsewhere.

At the Maimonides Cancer Center, we are deeply aware that cancers of the head and neck can be especially traumatic for patients – and our entire team is committed to helping our patients share the burden of that weight.
